Take 90 to 53 South/290 to get to Midway.

p.s. Next time fly out of O'hare (not Midway and definitely not Mitchell). It's much closer to Algonquin.
I agree, O' Hare is far more suitable if youre going to Algonquin. But Randall Rd isnt that congested at the time theyd arrive. Minus the stoplights, its smooth sailing between 10 am and 4 pm.

Oh yeah, I was thinking Algonquin was closer to Mundelein. That's way too far west for the Milwaukee airport to be a viable alternative.

Anyways, enjoy the drive from Midway.

I've lived near that B & B on Rt. 31. You don't need to go all the way west to Randall and then backtrack when you can just stay east and take Rt. 31 (or 25) to 90. Rt. 31 and 25 are rarely backed up. Some even take 31 or 25 to Rt. 72 to Rt. 59 to 90 (this is how the limo drivers always do it).

Sorry about that, I had no idea where the B&B was, didnt know Randall was that far out of the way. I only take Randall into Algonquin, thats why I recommended it.

No problem. Most people think Algonquin is just the newer, western part by Randall Rd. But it sprawls pretty far Northeast (next to Barrington Hills) as well. I prefer the eastern part of Algonquin as it has a quaint downtown, Victorian homes, less traffic, the Fox River, and IMO much more character.

I do that drive often, its really not that bad, and no milwaukee is not closer. you will be just fine, especially that time of night --er oops you said AM yeah that could make a difference. Should still be okay, maybe stay in the city for lunch and touristy things and go to algonquin later, but I really think its not a big deal. I much prefer midway -- cheaper flights, fewer delays, easier airport in general to deal with. You will be fine and algonquin is a nice choice, you will like it there! good luck!

Default thank you so much!

i appreciate all your responses very much! We're from Long Island, New York and we're flying out of Islip-McArthur, which has $59 flights from there to midway. plus, like some of you have posted, midway is a much calmer and less crowded airport, which is good because i'm one to get nervous in airports.

We obviously don't know our way around, so we're using a GPS.

And regarding the hotel, well, there are a few reasons why we wanted to stay there. Number one, all the nice chicago hotels are too expensive, and the only cheap ones were days inn located by midway and ohare. also, we plan on moving to the chicago suburbs in a few years and wanted to get a feel for suburban life a little bit.

P.S. i am also flute and oboe playa!!! i was bored so i made another user name, but yes its me! i posted this!

Thanks again!
