I'm an African American woman and small business owner looking to relocate to either Beecher, Peotone or Monee. Which suburb would be the most indifferent or even welcoming. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Will County population has increased slightly over 34% in 10 years. The demographics place whites at 76% and African Americans at slightly over 12%. Median income is just under $72,500.

Of the places you listed the Village of Monee is the largest with a 2000 population of 32,924. The racial makeup of the village was 93.88% white and 2.12% African American. The per capita income for the village was $27, 687

Both Beecher and Peotone have a population estimated to be less than 5,000. You can find more information about the villages in Will County here: Will County InfoNet - Will County, Illinois

Of the three you listed, Monee has the largest AA population and is closer to a larger African-American population in general than the other two towns..., so if that means anything of importance to you, it would probably be your best bet. As far as the welcoming aspect, I am not too familiar with the towns so I don't know for sure.

Whaaa? Monee is a small town as well - around 5,000 people. That aside I think your best choice would be Monee. It's closer to larger population bases and it's by far the most diverse of the 3.

Default ???

This is where I found the information. Peotone and other place mentioned had populations less than 5,000. If the census is accurate I don't think 2% is a terribly large population anymore than I think 12% of nearly 700,000 is a terribly large group, but I could be wrong.

Once again Wikipedia has bad info. I think the Wikipedia article about Monee must have been switched with another town because it's way off. Also, Monee is actually around 15% AA, while the other 2 towns are around 1% or less.
