We are an African American family and just moved to the state and/or area. We are in search of a Bible believing, Bible teaching church within the area. We are new in the area and do not have any friends or relatives in the area. We are asking for information of other Christians within the area of any names of their church homes for us to visit. We were more than just "bench warmers" in our previous church and would like to be active participants here. Worshipping with other Christians is important to us and our children have asked on several occasions when will they start back going to church. We have only been here two weeks. OH, we live in the Grayslake.

The Chapel is nice. We visited once, just to see what it was about. If you don't mind a 25-30min drive. Go to South Barrington. Willow Creek is there We were members for years until a transfer took us away. 3 yrs later I still deeply miss our church. Willow averages 25,ooo people every weekend. And they are always in need of help. They operate a pads center, cars ministries, prison . You name it they do it.
25,ooo people may be to much for some people. But we LOVED it. Nothing beats worshiping in a room along with 7000 believers singing at one time. I'm a tough guy, and it was easy to bring tears to my eyes just being there.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will google the address and we will certainly visit them. That is larger than we are used to but the number of worshippers do not bother me as long as God's word is being taught.

Bill Hybels is the Senior Pastor. I am sure you have seen his books in Christian Book Stores. Keep in mind that Willow is a Non Denom. They have 2 types of sevices. Their Thursday night service is called New Community. That is when they dig into the scriptures. Weekend services are a non threating stylye. They design their service around the unchurched. Go early and have some Dinner before church. Their Kids program is called Promiseland.
