They weren't mistaken about being second to Ford.

Haahahaha!

This guy gets it! Awkward phrasing, well more of an awkward pause in an attempt to bring attention to a point Chevy is attempting to establish, leaves us at the door of, drumroll........ F-150!

And yeah, I'm a Chevy guy, but still this made me laugh!

Yeah, not sure why it's so hard to get.

"We're second to 'XYZ'... and by XYZ we mean Ford and RAM"

We're second to Ford and RAM. Well done marketing team, well done.

If they are second to none then why bother pointing out who they are second to none to. Personally I won't but a chevy 4x4 because the crap ifs and front axle. Well I won't buy any ifs equipped 4x4 no matter who makes it.

Why? Unless you're doing serious rock crawling, IFS is fine. I always see this posted on car forums and don't see the logic. Most truck owners aren't going to be rock crawling their 40K rig.

-truck commercials
I always thought they were catering to men who wanted to drive through a creek in slow motion. But I think you've nailed it.

My dodge IFS broke going over a bump. I was on a dirt road going over what amounted to a tall speed bump. The mounting ears snapped right off the housing. A buddy's chevy broke as he was going on a bit of a twisted angle. Neither of us were competing on the rubicon. Just a scouting trip for upcoming deer hunting trip. Nothing crazy rubicon rock crawling. IFS was great when they had cast iron center sections but all the newer stuff is all aluminum to save weight.
Look up IFS breaking on you tube and you'll see a lot of breaks from 4wheeling that is really mild.
IFS will never be anywhere near as strong as a straight axle. I know off road baja race trucks have IFS but those are nothing like a normal IFS. Those race trucks are freaking crazy beefed up. Too many weak moving parts on regular trucks. On road freeway driving IFS is great but off road no thanks

I'm only referring to 4wd trucks as far as IFS

I just saw the ad~I love the song & had no trouble understanding the words.
Sad that so many people don't understand what "second to none" means!
