Giz, that's a decent area with a high racial mix. Kinda like mine. It is zoned for some not-so-good schools being Brainerd High and Dalewood Middle so this may be an issue for you. The elementary is Barger. The prices are decent so you may want to see about a transfer before the year begins, especially your 15 yr old daughter. That school can be rough, no matter your color. Glad you found something you like It is NOTHING like the Tunnel Blvd area NOTHING. Well, except the thumping radios lol

LOL~I'm a 34 y/o rock hippie, so my thumping radio will fit in. My hubby is also into customized trucks, so starting to sound like our neighborhood. Our daughter isn't moving with us, she wants to stay here with grandma (& boyfriend), so I just need to worry about elementary school for now. And that gives me time to find out about magnet/private schools before he hits middle school.

We snuck by there last night and got some pics of the neighborhood for you. The house is cute Here are some of the neighborhood, within two blocks. You will find mostly '40s model middle class homes. We saw quite a few kids playing and riding bikes as we cruised. Seemed pretty quiet for 5pm. You'll see a grassy area/field in a couple of pictures. That is actually a kind of round-about to slow traffic down and probably provides a great area for touch football too.

I think Barger should be ok. From what I know there is quite a bit of parental and teacher involvement. Lotsa little fairs and such through the year.

What? Boyfriend over Mom and Dad? Teenagers LOL

jkmewright~THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! To bad it's not that one house you took a picture of, 2nd to last, that house is GORGEOUS!!! LOL.

I looked up Barger today, it says its a magnet school for the arts. My son WON'T go there, oh no! He is the complete opposite of artsy, he's not like me at all!

And my daughter says she doesn't want to transfer high schools in the middle of her high school "career". Pleese...............

Thanx again! And unless the owner sent me the wrong pictures, you didn't take any of the house we're looking at, right?

Viki

Nope, no pics of the house you guys are looking at. I didn't want to take any chances or have anyone to jump in and get it from you so I left it out. I can get some if you like It looks nice with a fenced in yard and storage shed in the back. If you look in picture #6 you get a little glimpse of it though. I am glad to help. It's close to my home and we love to run around on cold days when we can't go out and play so it's kinda like a two for one lol
