By the same token, I'm very disappointed that you have to buy the $140 pass if you want to go to the other parks. In the past, we've used the Paramount pass at Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Kings Island, and Canada's Wonderland. We're planning 2008 vacations to include other parks, but it burns me to lay out $140 per person to do it.
Carowinds has made a big boost in their season ticket prices. A regular season pass for 2008 is $64.95, and that doesn't include parking. Parking is another $30. ($94.95 total) You can get a VIP pass with parking for $89.95. ($74.95 + $15)
They used to have really good deals if you got next year's season pass the previous fall. If they increase like they have in the past, I'm afraid to think what the season ticket price will be next spring.
I don't remember what I spent last year, but in fall 2005 I bought 2006 Platunum season passes with parking for $49.99. (Last year would have been $55 or $60.)
It was good to be able to include parking with all the kids' passes in case they went with friends that didn't have a parking pass. Maybe this year I won't get parking for everybody.
This is still a good deal over the daily admission if you plan to go more than once or twice during the season, but it certainly is quite a jump!
They've changed their policy on parking. Now parking in included in the regular and VIP passes. The web site is offering refunds for people who bought parking with their season passes already. This is a great change. Separate parking pass charges were too high.
Is Scarowinds worth the price of admission? My wife and I are planning to check it out! She was saying there is a 'yummy' chinese restaurant close-by. I guess we will make a night out of it..
Scarowinds is great! Their scary attractions were a hoot last year.
However, my kids went Saturday and said that it was too crowded and the lines were too long. They couldn't see everything before closing because they had to spend too much time in line.
I went last year and thought it sucked. It was expensive, crowded, atleast 5 rides were closed along with most of the waterpark, and the park closed at some ridiculously early hour like 6pm.
Season pass is worth the price. It will pay for itself in 2 visits. Water park is o.k. Scarowinds- a big hit withmiddle school/high schoolers- although there is an additional fee over the annual pass. My kids loved it for the first year we lived there- but burned out after that. (Thank goodness).
ooo la la Carowinds has brought back the early bird season pass with the perks like in the previous year. Also look like they are expanding the water park.
Plus you can advance purchase your season pass and not pay for it til March. Carowinds | North and South Carolina's Themed Amusement Park
A great gift for Aunts, Uncles and grandparents who gift always is forgotton but least now yours could last all summer long. You could even say you will babysit them and not tell the parents you just drop them off and pick them up when kids are done. lol. just kidding
I am thinking about giving Carowinds passes for Christmas and I am a little confuse
At the top of this link it says on the vip four or more?
What does that mean four people on one pass or something else?
It cheaper than adult but higher than the kid so I am confuse. http://www1.cedarfair.com/carowinds/preorder/
I do like they brought back free parking and admission to Scarowinds
From what I understand you must buy four separate passes in order to get that discount.
