It was process of elimination that lead us to our home. Now I can find fault with our community (ie. small pool) but I can find something that bothered me even more in every community we looked (including price, loved Marvin Creek and Prov Downs). Speaking of Providence Downs, have you checked them out lately? Those prices are coming down (maybe some over extended folks).

Sorry Providence downs, looks nice, but I don't think I want to be the smallest home in the subdivision :-) ..... Tell me - does the obsession with checking current house prices go away once you buy a house? I am so hooked!

I am just intrigued about your opinion on WT, maybe you haven't driven around the new phase yet.
If schools matter, then align yourself as close as possible to that school. Just got a letter in mail about re-districting.

Like someone said, you have to drive past those High-T's everyday, and so would your prospective buyers someday. Resale is what counts. There is a resale in there on the market for over 300 days and counting. There is another re-sale, that will provide you "instant-equity" (as the listing agent put it) Bank Owned.. Reduced $70,000! Give your client the gift of instant equity today!

Actually it is wisest to have the smallest, best, well-kept house in the nieghboorhood. As opposed to just the largest. I would rather you buy the smallest home in Weddington Chase, (not one backing shopping Development, that will someday go there), then a WT home. Again that is IMHO.

Hey Keith
What about the story of the burst pipes under the homes on Weddington Chase, or was that just a story. I just think there are negatives on every neighborhood. You seem to be picking out one neighborhood out of the many in that whole area which have power lines. I heard there was research that there is more danger eating a microwaved sandwich than living close to a power line. So did you drive around phase II of WT or would that 'phase' you!!! :-)

I think the home you are talking about does back almost immediately on to the power lines. It's in phase I. The towers are about 100yds from it. Its a great purchase, but not for me. There are almost no lots left on Phase I. I wonder how they sold them all when the power lines are so obvious as you say. Most of the people living there are I am sure very well education and able to research this before they commit to buying.

Don't get me wrong, WT is gorgeous, and I would move there in a second or two, if I was not seeing High-T's.

Yes, every nieghboorhood has it's problems, and busted pipes in WC is a problem in the older homes. Actually just put a home "under contract", in their and the buyers questioned that. I assume they got there info from city-data. You (an I) can learn alot from City-data. Listen to what people are telling you. Besides trying to give knowledgeable information, I try and pick things up from CD, it is a great resource.

You never answered my questions, so I am not answering yours yet. And I probably won't till later, because I have an appointment to go to!

OK, I think your questions were realtor type so that's why. I didn't want to give you the impression that I was looking for one. My top price is around $520 right now - I will tell you that. :-) Are you telling me that realtors will steer people away from all neighborhoods with T's? Or just that you would? Or are you just picking on WT!
