I know u said looking for a home. I moved here 6months back and here is what i wish i would have known. The best area in University area (atleast to my perception) is the area surrounded by Harris Blvd/MallardCreek Road/Mallard Creek Church Road/Tryon/Back to Harris Blvd
I regret not taking apt on Mallard creek church road(between Mallard creek road and Tryon). Has the best school and is a pleasant area.
If you really want the best of best, south charlotte and specifically Ballantyne area is where you want to be.
Also like someone said, Sugarcreek road north of Harris blvd is also nice as you enter Huntersville area.
West charlotte is bad of all, thats what i heard.
Hope this helps.

thanks lovemountains. i am not a Bama Grad. i am from there but chose to go out of state for school in Connecticut (where there is no football) and sometimes wonder how i made it . however i did meet my girlfriend there who is from Pennsylvania, and i am now bringing here back to the south with me!

Mihikam05 - Thanks a buch! thats a tremendous help. i dont know if the real nice south charlotte area will be in my price range since it sounds expensive. most of the areas i have looked at were around the university, so your post is extremely appreciated!

My sister lives in East Charlotte at a place called Hampton Commons is this a good area to live. If anyone know of any other Townhomes or houses in the East Charlotte area in the 800.00 range please let me know. The only reason why i would pick the east side is because it would not be to far from my original home of Greenville NC. I currently live in Portland oregon and im sure things have change in that part of the united states. Help please

Greenville, NC is gonna be a 4 1/2 hr or so drive regardless of where you choose to live in Charlotte. I sure would not select an area of Charlotte based on driving to Greenville.
