Just curious if anyone had any information about this area. It seems busy but there must have been a stall on some of the developments in the area. Does anyone know exactly what the plans are for across from Walgreens, why the Marble Slab Creamery went under, or what is planned for the cleared land just south of the Cureton Town Center on Providence?

The owner of the Marble Slab got into some legal issues not directly related to the store and had to close (he owned another one and closed it as well). The store and all its inventory/equipment is available for $55k.

Prescott (the large area adjacent to Cureton TC) was to be a neigbhorhood. It backs up to the 12 Mile Creek waste treatment plant and was built mostly on reclaimed flood plain. I belive at this time plans to build out the neighborhood have been shelved due to the water and sewer issues that plauge the county and the economic colapse of the residentual building industry in the county.

Not sure what they are building behind Walgreens if anything at all. I suspect you will see a lot of undeveloped (New Town Gardens) or underdeveloped lots in that general area for the next little bit due to the reasons above.

It was not supposed to be a neighborhood - one already exists for Prescott. This piece of land was to be more retail development, and, like much of the retail development in this economy, it is stalled.

There was supposed to be a Mickey D's on the Walgreen's side. Could that be what they're building?
