I am moving to Charlotte in 2 weeks from NYC because I am transferring jobs. I am AA, 23 and would like to move to an area where there are young professionals like my self. I will be working uptown ( between college and e morehead street) I saw the University city area thrown around here on a couple of threads. Could anybody reccommend some decent apartments that I could check out ( I will be in temporary housing until I find a place). Thanks in advance!

Not sure you really want the University area as a young professional. Look instead where other young professionals are living, like uptown, Southend, South Park or Arysley (in the Steele Creek area). Congrats on the job transfer

Most of our neighbors in Ayrsley fit into the "young professional" mold. Can't speak to the one apartment complex here as much, but a large chunk of the homeowners seem to be in their 30's, single or married and no kids.

Welcome from NYC - my company is based there and while I love visiting the city, I enjoy living here much more.
