Hey future neighbors, I am very excited about my move to Charlotte in two weeks .

I already have a job and an apartment, and I wanted to say thank you to all of you for your help. People in Charlotte seem to be super nice online and off. Counting the days to start enjoying some Southern hospitality

Thank you very much for the warm welcome Sunnykayak and PeytonC!

Did any of you move to Charlotte from somewhere else by any chance? I am looking for an affordable and reliable moving company. There are so many mixed reviews online that I am finding it hard to chose one.

Great news! You are coming at a terrific beautiful spring time too. Good luck with the move and "see" you around.

I moved here from Alabama in 2005, and my brother and I rented a big Budget truck and did the move ourselves. I couldn't recommend a moving company, but I'm sure you'll get some suggestions.

Allied Movers is who we used (cross-country). They were fine (that's who the company uses).

Greetings, DRGirl! Hope things fall in place and go smoothly for your move here.

I don't have a recommendation for a mover . . . I used Wheaton and they subcontracted the job out and it was not a good move (as far as my furniture being safe). I have heard others say they were pleased with Allied.

Please let us know once you are here and settled in!

Have used Allied and United Van Lines...both pleased with service as well as pricing.
