For those of you who get your HDTV signals over the air, do you have any trouble with reception? I am in the University area and am wondering if I would have any trouble getting the signals.
In the University area/Mallard Creek. We have cable, and periodically we will have some weird interruptions. It will freeze up or some other distorted things will happen. Usually doesn't last long, but can be aggravating.

I think you misunderstood my question. I'm referring to HDTV signals over the air, not with a cable or satellite provider.
Mine is an odd experience. We used HD rabbit ears and got WBTV and WCNC very well, but nothing else. We upgraded to an HD antenna mounted on the chimney and we got WSOC, WJZY and WAXN but could no longer get BTV or CNC. My DH is a television professional and he thought it was funny, too.
We use rabbit ears and get all the *regular* channels well. For some reason channel 9, wsoc...is spotty but I think that is just simply our location. 3, 18 and 36 are beautiful though.
I have been thinking about dropping cable for awhile now. 90% of the stuff we watch is non-cable chanels. Since they are being broadcasted in HD, why do I even need cable?
Plus, you can watch most shows in HD over the internet now too.

You don't need cable. If you have a TV with a digital tuner in it, you will not need that converter box either.
These cable & satellite company's want everyone to think we need them, we do not.
