Which is odd because my wife is consistently being offered something from some agency, as recently as this past Wednesday, with someone looking to talk to me this week. Anybody who thought it was a mistake to come back here, at least as far as jobs goes, wound up looking like a total a$$ in that instance.

Sorry sunny, the title's way misleading. They're out there, it's just the qualifications for them are getting tighter.

Jobs are out there. I think competition is tighter as well. Agreed this is a very misleading title.

Seriously.

Don't count on a job in Charlotte...well...I guess if you don't have one or you're about to lose one, then you might as well pack up and leave the entire area, correct? I'm imagining it would be the responsible thing to do.

I'm glad we came back when we did because during these "tough economic times", my wife found one within days and still gets offers.

I disagree that the title is misleading.

Competition is fierce. And, if you are in a job that is fairly generic...like customer service, you are competing with literally thousands of others that probably have the same experience.
If you have a certain amount of experience and a comparable salary, unless there something "different" about you, you run the risk of competing against someone that they can hire "cheaper" and thus you are out of the running. Believe it or not, age has a lot to do with it, too.

You have to find a niche; something different about yourself in order to compete in this market.

Thus, yes, I agree with Sunny's title & message.
