Servus bavarian girl,

After I moved to the U.S. about three years ago, my wife and I lived in Bloomington, Indiana for six months. Then we decided to move to Fort Collins, Colorado and moved to the Charlotte area in the middle of June '07. We originally wanted to move to Chapel Hill in North Carolina but my company wanted me to live in a city w/ a major airport. We actually live in a small town, Belmont, a few miles West of Charlotte. I like Belmont and Charlotte is O.K. but we hope that we can find a way to move to Chapel Hill sooner rather than later.

We miss living in a college town and all the diversity, coffee shops, people out and about everywhere, educated folks, college football & basketball, riding our bikes everywhere and so on.

What about you, how do you and your husband like Charlotte? When did you move here?

Chris

Servus Chris,

we just moved here in August 07.
So I cant say a lot yet, havent really seen much of Charlotte or the area yet.
We are currently renting in Charlotte (until our house in Fort Lauderdale sells) and then we are planning to move to Concord, Cabarrus County. I think I will like it, people are very nice and open.
We were ready to get out of S Florida.
I moved there in 2000 and now with 2 little kids we needed a better place to raise a family.

Jusr came back from a 3 week visit to Munich to see the family and friends and it was AWESOME.
I really miss it especially now where the real o-fest starts

Servus bavarian girl,

Welcome to Charlotte...

I am another bavarian boy... My mother is from Straubing and my father was US Army. We lived in German for 10 years (Baumholder 69-71 Munich 71-72, Bad Tolz 77-80, und Berlin 80-83). I was raised speaking only German, until we moved to Munich, where I had to learn English in order to attend the american school in Munich.

I have lived in Charlotte since 1986, and am currently living in Concord after 9 years in the University area of Charlotte. I have two young daughters, with one going to Carolina International School (Magnet School) in Cabarrus County...

I was back in Germany last year for two weeks, one week for my High School Reunion in Berlin and the other visiting my familiy in Straubing and in Munchen...

Bryan

Do you Germans know any other Germans with manufacturing and accounting experience? We are looking to fill a controller position and would be interested in someone with a German background.
