just moved here from NYC about a month ago- really like it down here
however, I am missing my weekly Roti meal
so I am preferably looking for Trinidad style- not really looking for doubles, but just great roti (Chicken + Potato + Roti bread)
are there any places in CLT or nearby? I'm not expecting to find a roti shop like the ones in Brooklyn but if there are any Caribbean or Indian spots that can make a half-decent Chicken Roti- please let me know.
Please write back and let us know if any of those places worked out for you. My mom is Trini and leaving behind all the authentic Trinidad restaurants in Brooklyn will be extremely hard for her when she moves to NC in the future.

Thanks!
I'm Guyanese and havn't found anything worth eating, as far as Roti is concerned. I just wait until I go to Brooklyn and head over to I forget the name of the place, but it's on Church Between Utica and 49th. I haven't had anything that I would consider good. But that is because I grew up eating the good stuff from my Mom and Family.
I was in BK this past weekend and I always go to Nio's on Church and Rogers, like 3 blocks down from where the 2/5 trains stop at Church Ave & Nostrand Ave
I am going to try Anntony's Caribbean Cafe at Sugar Creek this weekend and I will report back- Anntony's is Guyanese, so I am looking forward to this being a good meal at a good south caribbean spot
I try to stick with Trinidad Roti Shops- Nio's and Ali's in Brooklyn being my top choices, and then Brown Sugar in Philadelphia too-
If I can get a half decent chicken or ox tail roti and a side of veggies- then I should be good to go- thanks to those who have replied!
i know this post is kinda old but it made me laugh out loud literally. and it also comforted me as i am a trini, moving from florida to charlotte soon and i anticipate running into the same kinda trouble.
