Greetings,

My wife and I are a couple of months away from our relocation to Charlotte and we are doing a lot of research on housing and neighborhoods. From our last visit, we are very partial to the Matthews, Weddington, Indian Trail or Ballentyne areas. But we have seen a lot of houses in the Mallard Lake subdivision that are very nice. This seems to be East / Northeast of the city.

Does anyone have any input or opinions on the general area around Mallard Lake (Crime, Shopping, Traffic, general quality of life)?

Thank you in advance.

Mallard Lake is a semi-rural area in close proximity to the I-485 loop. You'll need to determine for yourself if traffic noise from I-485 will bother you.

It's near to Concord Mills, the Verizon Wireless Ampitheater, Lowes Motor Speedway, and Mallard Creek/Prosperity Church on one end, and North Tryon on the other. You will have easy access to I-485.

Traffic heading inbound on Mallard Creek in the AM backs up a bit. You're better off using N. Tryon if possible.
