Myhusband's mother is in an assisted living facility in Florida and we need to move her closer to us. Does anyone have the names of any in the Charlotte area? I found one but the website was for sale and I couldn't get any information. Thank you in advance.

There is one in Monroe on Newtown Rd, called Elizabethan Gardens. I know NOTHING about it. I just drive by it almost daily. It's closer to Mineral Springs.

There is at least one more in Monroe, possibly two. I don't know anything about either one but know someone who works at one. I will inquire about the names this evening and report back.

There is a nice one right on Providence. We toured it for a relative of ours and it was very nice.

Here is that new one that was mentioned: Levels of Care | Waltonwood Providence

Here is the one I toured. http://www.sunriseseniorliving.com/c.../overview.aspx

Try Resources For Senior Living , they have 3. 2 are side by side in Highland Creek , called The Haven , and The Laurels , respectively. I worked there when they first opened , and they are nicely designed. I forgot the Laurels number , but the Haven is 704.992.1560. The two facilities serve different purposes , Laurels is for those who remain cognizant , but just require assistance. The Haven is for those with dementia , mild to severe. The Haven has an internal design like a 1930's main street , with dedicated shower/bathing areas. Meals are cooked onsite , and taken to kitchenette setups in the residence area. Plates , et al. are placed on the tables , and a staff member passes out a menu/takes and serves orders for residents. They also have activities.

Go to "A Place for Mom", they are a wonderful resource for finding all types of assisted living/elder care. I used them for my MIL when she lost her home after Hurricane Sandy. They gave me listing for both NC/Charlotte area & CT/New Haven area. We wound up placing her in a facility in CT near my BIL.
