Eighty passengers arrived in Charlotte just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, after escaping a burning bus earlier in the day.

It's the third incident involving a Megabus in just a week. On August 2nd, a woman was killed after a tire blow out, caused the bus to hit a bridge in Southern Illinois. On Tuesday, a woman was run over and killed by a Megabus.

3 strikes = YER OUT!

I had thought about using this bus to go visit friends . . . but I had heard mixed reviews.

Three incidents in one week? I don't think so . . . My trust level is zero now . . . Megabus is not for me.

I am so glad folks who arrived here last evening are alright.

I think they are jinx according to report this bus went through a maintenance inspection a few days ago and the bus was a 2012 model.

I know I was praising Megabus in an earlier thread, but these incidents are a little disturbing. Apparently there was a similar incident to the woman being hit by the bus in 2010 - Megabus settles crash suit a day after woman struck, killed in Loop - chicagotribune.com. Still, other options such as Amtrak are not immune to accidents as well.

I know folks who have used it, too -- and no problems. That is why I was considering it.

Right now, tho . . . three incidents in one week . . . my confidence level has plummeted, lol.

I don't know why the headline didn't say "all passengers"; I had to click the link to make sure!

I guess the reporter or news staff wanted to point out there was Charlotte passengers on the bus.

I just saw on WBTV a news report on a Charter bus also caught fire but they dont have it linked on thie web site.
