Hi i am currently living just outside Seattle where i care give for my father.
Sadly the time will come for me to move on and Charlotte looks like a great place. I will make a trip there first of course to see if it is what I want.
There seems to be mountain biking activities and MUCH better weather
than here. The gray gets to you after a while.
Up front I wil say that I will be spending 150K>300k.cash. and it seems possible for a condo there. i just am not sure if I should do a studio or 1 bdrm uptown or in the south park or elizabeth areas where there seem to be nice townhomes and close shopping....nite life is not important to me, just like to be near stores and not to far from "downtown". Open to any suggestions and comments.
I have ordered a book called "Destination Charlotte". And i am sure it will be fun to see all the photography. It is funny but i think Charlotte actually has a nicer skyline than NYC. Also on my list, but to cold and my $$$ will get me a shoebox there.. OK. enough for now,,,Thanks, Kimberly...

Do you have any idea what type of a job you'll be looking for?
Elizabeth or Dilworth or Uptown would all work for you. There are condos in each area & you will be close enough to shopping/work with good access to the highways for getting to mountain biking.
You may miss the ready availability of the ethnic mix in Seattle. The groups/groceries/restaurants exist here, but not as many and you'll have to look a bit to find the right fit.
My best friend lives in West Seattle & we visit back and forth often; they are both good communities and I hope that, when the time comes, it is a good move for you.
