Tickers and Timbers is now open on Capitol Street in downtown Charleston. The popular Barboursville escape room/axe throwing venue has expanded into the Capital city. This is a nice edition, and will only enhance the appeal of downtown with the additions of new restaurants and breweries!
The company in that building is called QLabs. I don't know much about them. They provide medical testing services of some kind, and you can go there to get Covid testing done. I think it is a local company.
Like you say, that lot where the GE shop used to be seems like a good spot for a Go Mart or a Sheetz. I know there was soil testing being done before they paved it with asphalt. There are probably PCBs in the soil there from all the years of work on motors and transformers that happened there. That wouldn't keep it from being a gas station, but the land probably isn't suitable for a medical clinic. I wonder if the traffic flow would be an issue there.
The lot where the GE shop used to be is going to be a Par Mor convenience store with BP gas and Arby's food. I saw a sign on the fence yesterday.

I wonder how the entrances and exits will work.
I am curious about this as well. I would imagine that they would have at least an "exit only" onto MacCorkle Ave., with a entrance and exit on Ferry St.
I've been saying for years that a convenience store would work really well right there. I was thinking Sheetz would have gobbled it up, but Par Mar is a WV company. I do think that an Arby's a weird choice for fast food going in there.

Arby's has become our favorite "fast food" restaurant. You can actually taste the meet on their sandwiches.

I like it too. I just think it is a weird spot for one. I would have voted for an A&W like the Par Mar in Fairmont has.
Either way, I think it's a smart location for a gas station.
