lol, poor cyrus!!!!
When we had Sasha, we had to do the same thing to him. I had to go to the other room to laugh as not to hurt his feelings...poor Sasha! We got a great deal too, I had called all over town, and nobody would do it, they said "take him to the vet, have him sedated, and they will shave him" we didnt want to go that route, besides, it was over 100.00!!! Ended up finding a little out of the way place, checked em out, super clean and good people, they did, a wash, the shave, another wash, and it cost me 25.00! No sedation, no trama, they said he sat there and complained, but never scratched or fought em. Only difference, was they did 3/4 of his tail too, so the only thing left on his tail was a little puff at the end! Weirdest thing, the rest of his hair was growing back fine, but not from his tail....that stayed just the same...is that typical?
not a good pic, this was transfered from a camera phone, but gives an idea on what he looked like about 4months after the shave....
GOD, but we miss him terribly......

Aw, poor Sasha. But you did get an amazing deal! The first groomer I tried (a mobile groomer) said the same thing, that I would have to take him to the vet and sedate him... he's been shaved 2 times before, and didn't need all of that. So I called my vet, and they agreed that was ridiculous - and referred me to a few places that would do it.

Apparently that's what they call a "lion tail," as opposed to a "blended tail" like Cyrus now has... they gave me the option, and explained the difference before I chose. Figured he would look silly enough, I wouldn't embarrass him further with a naked tail.
