My late wife totally believed that, and pretty much lived by it. Fortunately for our relationship, her cats liked me very much, as I did them. I have her to thank for me being a diehard cat person for the past 30 years. Just one of the many things I'm grateful to her for.
Both kitties were adopted from a high kill shelter. Charlie (left) was orphaned at just 4 weeks old. When I showed up, he was the last of his litter. He's very sweet and loving, so I'm not sure why he wasn't picked. Oh well, he's my kitty now (and has been for awhile).
The Princess (right) was probably someone's Christmas kitten. Once she wasn't a cute and cuddly kitten, they dumped her. The Princess reminds me of Charlie Chaplin and has a personality to match. She is an eternal kitten, so very playful and funny. The Princess is a people oriented kitty, a dog in cat's fur, a lap kitty who adores being around people and getting attention. She's also a very devious, opening drawers and cabinets she shouldn't. I don't know how anyone could have dumped her, but like Charlie, she's mine now.
This is JackieAmelia who fancies herself queen of the household (in a not-very-good picture). She started out bullying some of the cats then mellowed out to pretending being the ruler. We tell her she has a showgirl's tail, and she seems very vain about it, as she's the only one with a "floofy" tail. Mom decorated the box, and the cats love it~top and inside.
Jackie has a long, long story behind her, but I won't inundate you with another one. Let's just say that, when we rescued her and her littermates, each was the size of a tiny puffball, so delicate-boned that we called them "birdkittens". They were so fragile that we hesitated to handle them, but the tiny critters would climb up whatever they could to be held and played with. We never expected them to live, but they grew up strong enough to find homes except for her; we couldn't bear parting with her. We might have to since we're only allowed four cats. It's going to be a heartbreaker to give up our beautiful girl, but I think she might like being THE cat of the house; we hope they'll love our dual-personality girl as much as we do.
^Checkers hopped up on me this morning and his paw pads were freezing! He must have come up directly from the basement. I screamed, and he bolted. LOL
