I'm moving to a new house and I just realized (duh!) there's no good place for a litter box. I have 2 cats and 2 boxes. In my current house they've been in the basement but this house has no basement and no utility room. The cats are indoor or I'd put the boxes in the garage.
I'm considering moving to Austin, TX and since almost all of the house are built w/o basements down there I'm facing the same thing. I guess I just figured I'd use a bedroom or the utility room.

So where do you put the litter box?
Just a thought. You could still put it in the garage if you built a cage around it and did a cat door in the wall.

So where do you put the litter box?
We have four kitties and three large litterboxes:
One in the master bathroom upstairs under the sink (no door).
One in the front coat closet on the main level.
One in a rarely used secluded room at the back of the main level.
The top one gets used the least, and the bottom one the most.
Me too. Our laundry room is such a catch-all room, it's got everything from washer/dryer to coffee machine to kitty litter, but what can ya do, we have to have a litter box. I do have a hand vac right there to keep things tidy.
When I had two cats and two boxes, it was a little crazy trying to find a good spot where the dogs would not be tempted to "sample" any kitty crunchies.
At one point,in another house, I had the boxes next to each other in the bedroom closet.
Ick.
Now we're down to one cat and one dog, and I use one of those BoodaDome litterboxes.
My dog's head is too big to stick inside the entry hole.

My Mr Mouskiewitz passed away but when I had a kitty I kept his box in the laundry room. I use one of the big plastic storage boxes and cut a hole in the side about half way up. Then I put the lid on. Nice big box. Lid keeps stuff from falling in. And the high sides cut down on the sand flinging.
Somewhere that is not immediately visible upon entering the room. I have a one bedroom and I have it in my sunroom area under my sofa table. At my last place I had a pretty open floor plan and it was in a corner beside the bar so it was visible. I have never had many options though since I rent.
