Thanks Naturen! I just saw a video on tapping to relieve stress. I'm going to call the vet in a bit and bring her in for bandage removal. I found out this morning that leaving a heated blanket on under a comforter brings her an immense amount of calm!

Hmmm... so.... the cone is no fun. But thankfully the meds helped her calm down. She can go up stairs but no idea how she'll get down. Will she fall down the stairs?

She's figured out food and water, but not the litter box. She's never once gone outside the box, will she figure it out? She either has her head up high or down low. So she can't get her head over the edge of the box.

And, right as I was putting her in the car she got out of the cone, so they put it on tighter. Now I see she's got some scrape on her neck from trying to get out. What to do for that?

So today's day 2 of the cone...I loosened it a tiny bit as she's not fighting it any longer and it really was too tight.

I see she managed the litter box overnight. Didn't cover it up but did use it. This morning I heard her scraping along the wood floors, she can't seem to lift her head in it? She hopped up on our bed and purred while I petted her, then fell asleep. So slowly adjusting!

Be sure to talk to her about it and why she's wearing it and when it can come off. Can you provide her with a low sided litter box for comfort. Just put it next to what she's got and give her the choice.

You don't even have to buy another box. You can use a low-sided or cut down cardboard box lined with a plastic trash bag since it's only a week.

Hi everyone! Day 3. I talk to her all the time, and cuddle her a ton. Since I'm stuck at home due to coronavirus, I feel lucky in that I can check on her often. This morning I laid her favorite blanket over her since our house is chilly. She usually loves to bury herself under it but can't because of the cone. She purred.

We did take an extra litter box we had and cut out one side entirely, leaving a low part of the bottom to keep the litter in. She's using it now no problem. I stacked her food bowls and she can easily get to that. Same with water - she actually likes these glasses we have - they are low so work perfect.

She's now hopping up on our bed no problem.

The med we have is called Gabapentin 50mg. It seems to work beautifully on her anxiety.

Not counting today we only have another 4 days to go! Her appt. is 9am Monday.

@NYC refugee: Foot looks pretty good. It's shaved and has stitches, so that's not pretty. But I'm not seeing much in the way of litter debris or any kind of gunk that would concern me. Overall I'm pretty happy with it, although I hate seeing her in the cone.

Day 4. Just 3 more days to go!!! Zoe really wants to bathe herself. Instead, she licks the inside of her cone. I read that cats really miss this during this time and brushing them helps. So I've done that. And I spend a lot of time petting her and giving her kisses. A major plus of this whole virus thing is I get to stay home and spend more time with her. Leaving her alone all day to go to work would've been really tough.
