And the tax they propose ($50/oz) is at least twenty times higher than current tax on tobacco.

If it's decriminalized, we'll be getting a lot of tax revenue (direct and indirect) from tourists, but most regular smokers will just develop small cannabis patches in their backyards.
Why do you think it's easy to do that? You can't just plant a seed and have a good crop, it takes careful attention and skill. It's a science to grow good pot. I'm a regular smoker and don't have the time or space to do this. The amount of attention it needs is more than most people are willing to put up with.

I agree that the price would drop.

I did hear that Obama said he would not interfere with states doing this, that he would not let the DEA raid the stores. So it should succeed and the state will get a big cash infusion. This will encourage other states to want that extra revenue also. Win - win.

Dang right it ain't easy!

Raising the quality type bud does take time and effort. Many ways to raise it up. Me? I like the deepwater indoor 1000wt light system. Outdoors it takes very little to care for. And it can go crazy naturally.

Please, just open yer mind and do some honest research.

Industrial hemp grows all on it's own and does a wonderful job of it.

So let me get this straight? You are saying you heard Obama say he would not allow the DEA to enforce the law? Or are you saying you heard from someone he said that? I really think you have taken something out of context, I don't think I have ever heard him say he would not obey the law?

Nita

ps: let me add, I don't really have much of a problem with pot being legtalized, I do have a problem with someone saying our Pres has said he would break the law.

Yepper Skippy.

Pres O directed DEA to BACK OFF california "Dispensaries".

So Nita darlin', yer Supreme Leader is the one you should have a problem with. You did vote for him right? Even after knowing he admitted to Cocaine and Marijuana usage in his "youth".

Since that not a single 'Medical Marijuana Club" has been busted here in socal.

Look it up! I don't mind educating people but the info is all over the net.

The reason you see so many different names for the stores you can LEGALLY purchase Cannabis is because they have not really regulated it on a state wide basis. I say regulate and tax the snot out of it.

How much do you think that bottle of bourbon cost's from distillery to shelf? Or that 6 pack of Dumbwiser. The state and feds make a big ol' bucket of cash on that commodity. Before it's sold and after it's ingested.

That's a whole cottage industry in itself. DUI's RUIN peoples lives,,,,,

ergo,,,

Alcohol has ruined far more the Cannabis

I've been involved with this movement for 30 years. Never been busted for it in my life. Never sold as much as a joint in my life. And I'm 52.

And I'll never tire of this subject. The more you know, the better the decision you can make.

Read what I said, I am not opposed to legalizing pot. It isn't my thing, but I could care less who uses it including my own family. As for what the Pres did with "medical Marijuana Clubs" that is probably a grey line. I do not believe he has said "California can legalize all the pot they want and I will not allow DEA to do anything" If that is the case, we have a real problem with our President. No one has the right to break the law.

NITA HONEY!

Don't read into ok? He did not say California can do that.
The Supreme Leader instructed the DEA to not raid any Cannabis clubs in California. He did not, I'll repeat that for you, he did not say California could legalize Marijuana.

But he DID instruct the DEA to BACK OFF.

I'm sorry I cannot be any clearer to you. I live here and see it every day. These shops are like the 7-11's when they first started expanding and it's gettin g almost as bad as Starbucks!

So please, pretty please, do not doubt that which I see with my own eyes every day.

My rose colored glasses broke back in the 70's.
