Hi everyone,
I would really appreciate your help. My husband and I currently live in the SF bay area and would like to move sometime early next year. We love the weather here and the progressive community, but are looking to settle down for good in a place that is a bit less expensive, not as populated, and doesn't have as many earthquakes. We would love to stay within a day's drive to this area. And sunny days are a must!
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks so much!

What line of work are you in?
Where can you work?
What is your price range for a home?
Is in the middle of the desert OK? There's probably less earthquakes and it is sunny. More affordable. Meets all your requirements. Maybe Barstow, Needles, Daggett, Blythe, Mojave?

Thanks for your reply-
Here are my answers to your questions:
What line of work are you in? Where can you work? We both work from home.

What is your price range for a home? Anything is going to seem cheap compared to the bay area, so we are thinking $500,000 or less.

We used to live in New Mexico, and we are looking for something not quite so hot. We're picky, I know.

Some other things that I didn't mention before - the area needs to be safe. It should also have many parks and natural beauty.
We're thinking a town of 50,000 or less for the population.

Does this place even exist?

Thanks, everyone!

It's funny that you mentioned Ashland, Oregon - that keeps coming up for us!
I will look definitely look into it.
I think when I hear "Oregon" - I think of rain and cold - is Ashland sunny a lot of the time?
It definitely has the community we are looking for - and the natural beauty.
Thanks!
