Sort of, unless we look at cousins of covid19 like sars and mers which jumped from civet and camels to humans.

True, they are still in their same corners. But now that it's Biden and Fauci saying it certain people are willing to listen to the theory now. At least when someone says "follow the science" or "I listen to the experts" you know they don't critically think about any of this or look at the data and just parrot whatever they come across in the media.

I know what you're saying. As the source changes, people who dismissed it prior are now willing to listen. And that's a problem... for them. Their intellectual dishonesty doesn't really affect me. It would be hilarious if at some point under the Biden administration, hydroxychloroquine became the newest greatest thing ever.

It's weird how the state seems to be catering to people who are unvaccinated all the sudden.

Of course Newsom is walking back on reopening the state now and is going to hold on to his emergency power indefinitely. The virus is NEVER going to go completely away.

Gavin Newsom signals June 15 may not be a return to normal in testy press conference

Rosenhall then asked Newsom whether he would rescind his emergency declaration and relinquish his emergency powers, to which he stated that he would not.

"We're still in a state of emergency," he said. "This disease has not been extinguished. It's not vanished, it's not taking the summer months off."

The governor stated that additional guidelines would be released in the coming days ahead of June 15.

OSHA only exists on the state and Federal levels, and localities probably can't mandate much more specifically than masks for workplaces nor legally have much power to enforce that. Plus, vaccination levels in most places aren't enough for herd immunity, and even less so if millions of vaccinated people haven't gotten a strong immune response. Therefore, CAL-OSHA doesn't have much choice other than to continue COVID-19 restrictions into next year.

I disagree. I think it's a problem for all of us. Each of those dishonest people also have a vote.

Man this guy really needs to be recalled. He's never going to let go of this power. This virus may never go away completely, and he'll use this to hold onto that power forever.

We're better off than most states and we're probably the only one with these restrictions. They make no sense at this point and are going way beyond what the CDC recommends.

Most states, including California, haven't met the vaccination threshold most health officials have pushed for. The infection rate in this state probably is artificially low and ranking well because it's less open than most states.

The only thing that was allowed "full capacity" during the course of the pandemic was BLM "protests" about a year ago. One year, later with everyone who wants a vaccine, fully vaccinated, we still can't open up businesses or have normal indoor gatherings. Newsom has to go

I don't see what that matters. This isn't a CDC recommendation or federal regulation. It's just CA being stricter than it needs to without any justification. Plenty of other states that are way more open with a similar low infection rate. We also had the highest infection rate at one point during winter despite the tightest restrictions in the country.
