If you look at the link and in the imbedded tweet, sounds like he's referring to dense, crowded indoor spaces only. Like an arena, concert halls, etc... It is a little confusing as I wasn't sure at first. If they keep the indoor mask requirement that's pretty much just keeping what we have right now for the most part.

Lol ... oh, my post was about plenty: the silliness of conceit, among other things. And, as I said, you’ll find no shortage of ‘numbers’ in my posts (on other topics) where meaningful.

I expect Los Angeles, San Francisco, and probably some other major parts of California to continue to mandate indoor mask usage in almost the same ways they're mandated now, along with masks at outdoor concerts and so on as those events are permitted again. If/when it's demonstrated that fully vaccinated people rarely become de facto carriers, then maybe masks would be overkill in areas where herd immunity is close or infections rare.

Was encouraged to see far fewer outdoor masks in Walnut Creek today. Sanity has almost returned. Few more weeks and it might cross the Bay and the SF virtue signalers will have to go back to their silly attempts to shame people about other nonsense.

Well, there was a big scary surge, but CA didn't avoid it because people disregarded lockdowns and gathered at private residences, spreading the virus almost as well as those in FL and TX.

Schools, restaurants, barber shops, and workplaces never drove covid, so shutting them down or opening them made very little difference.

It was an honest mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. A lot of people's lives were screwed up for no good reason.

Right at the beginning of this thing, it was clear that only a Chinese style lockdown would stop it. The half assed restrictions we put in place were all but useless once the initial panic wore off and people started coming out of their homes.
Well when liquor stores are made essential businesses while the ones you named are closed, it becomes much less about public health and appears to be politicians making random decisions.

Random decisions? Hardly.

The race for virus money is on. Lobbyists are standing by:

It's actually getting funny how badly we're trailing other states reopening. Thank God my niece and nephew are out of the garbage California public school system and have teachers who take pride in their work, rather than pride in not doing it.
This recall was filed in February 2020, that is 11 months before the first state, Iowa mandated that schools reopened, and it was a full month before the pandemic, so let's keep it real...this recall has absolutely nothing to do with what Newsom did or didn't do, so let's keep it real and call it what it is; a Republican funded effort to try to get a Republican governor elected.

And no, we actually aren't 'trailing other states' in reopening. 14 states have state mandated orders for partial or full reopening and four states have partial mandated closures. Remaining states allow districts to make their own decisions on reopening. https://www.edweek.org/leadership/ma...closed/2020/07

32 states allow school districts to make their own decision about reopening schools, California is one of those.

After imposing nonsensical restrictions that the state knew would force schools to close.

Our district consistently cited the arbitrary 6' rule as the reason they could not reopen until they did an insane dance of reworking schedules and cohorting. They wasted millions of hours of effort repeatedly rearranging the deck chairs due to completely non-scientific mandates from Sacramento.

Actually providing academic instruction was clearly Sacramento's LAST priority when it came to schools. They were never treated as essential, nor were teachers ever considered essential workers and provided the proper support (hazard pay, ppe, vaccine prioritization).

Sacramento's response to the pandemic vis-a-vis education was shamefully inept.
