On Friday nights at rush hour if the Red Hill looks backed up I cross using Barton Ave driving very close to the stadium. I can cross all of Hamilton in about 20 minutes even with all the traffic lights. Traffic on Barton is usually light.
I agree, the time though with border crossing and rush hour Toronto bound on the QEW to the Stadium would take at least 45mins....if not more in bad weather don't you think marc?
Ljving in US and dailh commute to Hamilton a BIG NO. I am from Hamilton and lived in Grimsby, too. I recommend them both. Stoney Creek is very nice, lovely town and homes. I recommend both, or Winona for nice small town/ country living and quick commute to Hamilton where there is lots of culture. Nice older homes around Stadium, you may find one for rent. There are a few very nice apartments and lots of nice homes around Gage Park where they have wonderful weekend concerts, only a short drive from the stadium. Caution, don't even consider daily commuting on Red Hill Valley Parkway, it's crazy fast, very busy and dangerous. Good luck.
