She's not a raging racist egomaniac and isn't promising to turn Boston into East San Francisco which is good enough for most. Although the latter certainly appeals to property owners planning to decamp for suburbia - who wouldn't want to unload their roach-infested triple decker floor with several fresh bullet holes for a cool million or so once new construction grinds to a halt thanks to all the feel-good housing policies?

^Too bad Brenda Casselius started tiss transition 2 years ago, lmao

She hasn't done much of anything, Shudra. She's a candidate riding the wave of reactionary white votes and peddling the small vision rhetoric we heard for city councilors in the 20th century.

I mean she really is a lackluster pick. Her idea of mayor is being a giant old-school city councilor. She wants Boston to be known for the fewest potholes in the US? How that helps advance Bosotn forward int these dynamic times is 100% beyond me.

George's accomplishments (or lack thereof) aside, perhaps that's exactly what the city needs during challenging times like these??? If you don't have the basics down of running city government, then you can kiss all big "visions" goodbye as well. No mayor of any city has been successful without mastering that "step one", as "un-sexy" as things like filling potholes and making sure the trash gets picked up are. I have yet to be convinced that Wu is up to the task. But I'm also not a Boston voter who needs to be convinced, luckily for her that electorate is a little higher on the idealism stuff than I am.

Wu simply wants to use the gullible fools to get a promotion so she can fool some more gullible fools and get yet another promotion down the road. There's no way in hell she's clueless enough to actually believe in the fairy tales she's telling.

the thing is Boston has had those basics down for 25 years. In fact, those of you who want no change rant and rave about that fact.

Annissa saying she going to do that is in effect saying nothing, its already being done. It hasn't not been done in a long time. She's also not offering any proof she'd offer an improvement of basic public services other than saying she would.

No doubt Wu can maintain the roads. This is why she's behind, most voters expect more than what AEG offers. This was Kim Janey's big flaw as well-too pragmatic.

I somewhat agree, but at least she has ambition and vision. She also has extensive, detailed, plans.

Annissa seems like she doesn't want to do anything because it's easy to do and because she probably doesn't have the managerial skill to do so. Considering her frequent tax violations, state ethic law violations, teaching license violations etc. She literally cannot manage her own affairs. Why would anyone vote for that other than they don't like change in general?

There are many in depth articles on WU's plan for transportation. It was the foundation of her campaign in the beginning.

Ambition and vision for sure - as in ambition and vision of a nice cozy congresscritter chair along with an extensive list of empty buzzwords, equally empty freebie promises and feel-good policies that have proven to be downright disastrous.

As a homeowner I'm perfectly all right with either - I can stick around under George and watch the city get better over time, or I can pocket the nice fat seven figure check and grab a nice condo in Brookline under Wu's East San Francisco social experiment.

And many would argue that being a big reason for Boston's economic success during that period, as well as positive QOL trends like reducing crime. Bottom line is businesses and people do not want to be in a city that doesn't have its $hit together in delivering basic essentials (see Baltimore).

I haven't read any of the "in depth" stuff, but at a glance things like no fare MBTA (that the city has no control over, and no explanation on how that's obtainable for the already cash strapped authority???), to new bus lanes (where in the heck does the city have room for those on the key corridors???) are indicative of somebody who just doesn't understand how things work. More so, I see is as empty virtue signalling to a progressive electorate more concerned with "ideals" than results. Promise the world, end up with DiBlasio's NYC.

What!? She’s done so much concrete, tangible stuff as councilor!

You don’t have to look hard to find it!
