I wonder if Birmingham will get an Ikea store in this latest expansion by the company. What do you guys think?

That's a hard one. IKEA likes having a big population footprint. Don't know if we're at that level.

True. But there are some comparable outliers. Memphis and Jacksonville come to mind.

The rumor at the time was that they were looking at 459/280 where at&t was. Now that it's been developed I'm not sure if there's a backup spot that has that sort of traffic and high visibility.

Unlikely, the Memphis location isn't doing the best, and Nashville looks like a more appealing spot for a new store. Birmingham's just too close to Atlanta to be a coverage focused location either. New Orleans, OKC/Tulsa, and Albuquerque would like the best smaller markets to risk for potential long distance draw. Since they're doubling up on some markets, it would be a long shot for Birmingham.
