Was watching this live airport live camera today and seen an airplane pull up to one of those empty gates over by Delta today and it was not an airline I recognize so I wonder what that was about?

I could not catch the name, I just seen a big "S" on the tail of the plane and the plane was like this purple/blue-ish color

Charter flight?

How about FinnAir. The F looks like an S when viewed from the starboard side. https://www.planespotters.net/photo/...td-erj-170-100

Or maybe Sun Country (I've seen them at HSV a couple of times): https://www.facebook.com/SAVHHIairpo...RkrPC0JVY&_rdr

It was Sun Country! I did not know the charter planes pull up to the gates. I know UAB usually boards their planes at the hangers

Last week the city hung up new street banners around that area as well.

It was one of the remaining obvious spots for a nature trail integrated into the city fabric. Plus, it will hopefully prevent building in flood zones. Though it seems slightly odd to end at the CrossPlex when Rickwood is close by, too. I guess a cohesive Village Creek zone would be the best place after that.

My guess is that it will eventually link up to the downtown area. The exact route I don't know.

This is really a nice article. Especially noteworthy IMO are the following quotes:

From Director Dimitri Logothetis: "As a director, I always look for really unique places. There's a lot of wonderfully unique locations here. There's a lot of texture in the town. I was very much surprised, in a positive way, to see that. So, I'm very excited to be filming here."

From Producer Joel Shapiro: "This is one of my favorite places in the entire country to film. This is my third or fourth project in Birmingham. It's an incredibly warm environment for filmmakers. I think it's one of the best places to shoot and we're super appreciative."

The article is definitely worth a read. Thanks for posting it.
