Thought this was worth mentioning:

Regions Bank acquiring private equity firm

https://www.al.com/business/2020/02/...uity-firm.html

Always nice to see local companies on the buying side of a 460 employee company.

Definitely good to see Regions on the buying side. Should help them continue climbing the Fortune 500 list. This acquisition and the one last year of Highland Associates signals to me that Regions plans to keep growing and remain an independent company rather than look to be acquired as was the rumor a couple years ago.

ProAssurance also recently announced an acquisition of medical liability insurer in San Francisco.

BBJ article related to the World Games:

https://www.bizjournals.com/birmingh..._news_headline

Not really any new info, they are waiting to hear more from the IOC and think it is premature to make any decisions.

I would love to see this delayed until 2022. Not that I think there is a huge overlap between the two, but I think it makes sense and with the huge things going on I think they could make it happen. 2022 would be a much better example for the City - Protective Field and Legacy Arena would be finished. CityWalk would be finished. BRT might (???) be finished.

Olympics have been moved to July 23 - August 8 2021, while the World Games are currently scheduled for July 15 - July 25 2021. I definitely think we should use this as an out to move to 2022 to not have them at the same time.

World games moved to 2022:

Glad they made a decision now - Protective Stadium and a renovated BJCC complex will be a much better base for this. Think the city will be in a better spot than next year.
