Gullible? Child please!

I'm well aware of the potential for misuse, just like i'm aware of the positive applications of this technology.

Apparently, many people on here only choose to see the negative side though.

Besides, we already have satellites in place that can read what year a dime was minted. Are drones more controversial because they're visible?

Drones by and large are not visible, if you mean "visible" from an operational standpoint. That's part of the cachet.

Being in the middle of Kansas ranching territory I am sure some drones have flown over me many times and I haven't seen one of them yet.

The EPA is so afraid of all those cattle farts and the draining of their real waste into "navigable" streams that they really think all this is legal and Constitutional.

Explain the billions would ya? The forest fighting drones would be privately owned. Do you understand that? 10-Fun Facts about Drones :

Ten Fun Facts About Drones - Forbes

1. There could be 30,000 drones overhead in the U.S. by 2020, reports the Washington Times.

8. The FAA Reauthorization Act calls for six drone test sites around the U.S. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security plans to launch a site in June — likely in the Southeast — devoted to testing drones for use by first responders (local and state police, firefighters, etc.). DHS is looking to provide funds to industry partners so they can bring their drone technology in for test drives. This is how they will ensure that drones are safe for use — and have mastered the “sense and avoid” features that are so important to the FAA, so that a drone doesn’t fly into a plane engine or crash into a home — and how drones will more easily be making their way to your local police station

How is this allowed? Its unconstitutional and proof that our privacy is an illusion.
Big brother is watching, there may be a virtual drone flying over your computer, or cell phone, monitoring what you say too.

There is nothing to stop the EPA or any other government agency with drones from looking at any activity they choose. And being human, they will quite often choose to look where they are not supposed to look.

Then why do they need thousands of drones?

...and people are okay with the government monitoring us like this? That TV series Dark Angel thought they were cutting edge, when they depicted an authoritarian US government with drones flying around monitoring the population.

Here's the really stupid thing about all of this whining about drones. The government has spy satellites in orbit that you can't see that can watch you 24/7. The number of posts on the front page whining about it? 0.

Time for you guys to loosen up those tin foil hats. Nobody cares enough about you to spy on you.

Some of you people just aren't getting it. It's not about the fact, and it is a fact, that the government is watching us, and has been. It's about the fact that they are taking more and more liberties that they should. We have let it happen. "Give an inch and they'll take a mile." is really all that needs to be said. The point is it needs to stop. All of it needs to stop. The only way to stop it is to wipe the slate clean and start again.

It's amazing how riled up the conspiracy theorists can get over unmanned aircraft flying in the unrestricted airspace above open farm land.

Makes me wonder how many of the twitterpated folks on here are farmers. I am and so long as all the aircraft that flies over us maintains it's minimum altitude and doesn't spook the livestock, it's all good.
No, it's not all good. How is it all good to infringe on us even more than they already do?

It's amazing how calm libs get when, in their own minds, these things don't effect them when, in reality, they do. Thats what it all comes down to though, right? Reality vs fantasy. You people who think "it's all good" are living in a fantasy.
WAKE THE HELL UP!!!!!!!

I doubt that the gubmit has enough personnel to keep an eye on all of us. Sheesh.
Are you a free citizen of the USA? Yes? THEN AT LEAST PRETEND TO CARE ABOUT STAYING FREE! For God sake people! Don't you care that the government is encroaching on us? Don't you like having freedom? If you don't than why don't you grab a plane to China or Russia and let the Americans who like freedom do what we do best and fight for it!

So the ends justify the means with a "they're doing it anyway so why should we care" attitude.
That mentality will take America to new places..... like down the toilet.
