I proceeded to call a different dealership at which time they informed me of the other various differences between the base and level up model, including these two.
In hindsight....you probably have learned that you do ALL the research BEFORE you set foot onto any car lot.
You could/should have called other dealerships first.
Or, you can always do that research online.
That way, you know more about the car and the various options and packages than the salesman probably does when you go to try to make a deal on one.
What do rear speakers cost? I figure $60-$100. Maybe more if you have to pay to have them installed. YOU STILL WON! You still came out cheaper than the $1000 price difference between the two models.
Had he told you that there were two speakers missing, you still would have chaulked it up and said you could buy them cheaper and went with the base model.
are you telling me that your new car came with front speakers and NO head unit?!?
what kind of vehicle?? utility van?
i certainly wouldn't blame the salesperson or dealership as a whole on this experience, of course, i wasn't there, so i'm only getting your side of the story...but, when flopping down cash for a car, ya gotta do your due dillegence bro...chalk it up as a lesson learned, buy you some speakers for the rear and jam it out!
I can't believe you didn't do a little bit of basic research before dropping $15k+ on a car. Buy the speakers you want, get them installed, then be a smarter consumer in the future.
honestly the first thing i thought when reading the first post itt is if buying a car with no stereo and no other reason to have stereo speakers, i wouldn't expect to find any speakers in the car, much less front and rear
not even a tweeter
i'd have been happy to find i had fronts =]
so yeah to answer op's question, you're just bitter
Upset because the salesperson steered you towards a cheaper model? Thats the silliest thing I've ever heard. The dealership would rather sell you a car with more options. You'll just have to trust me on this.
A good salesperson will try to understand what is important to you and steer you towards the appropriate product. He/she probably got the vibe that you were looking for an economical ride and directed you towards the base model.
If you could do it over again, would you spend the extra $700 for allow rims and a pair of $50 speakers? I'd be willing to bet anything that you still would have gone with the base model.
