I only brought it up to illustrate that our laws are different, and what happens over there can't necessarily happen over here.
I think you need to explain which laws specifically prevent his scenario from happening. If they can put up red light cameras and speed cameras, without violating these laws then what will stop his scenario from happening? You need to be specific because it is not all clear that the Constitution protects us from that, or worse.
I don't see nayhting wrong with redlight cameras. people are always screaming thaqt the traffic laws are not enforcedltaht enforces them at low cost to taxpayers also from what i have seen prevent traffic accidents. poeple just want to play games with traffic laws in my view.
Its also strange that Las veags drunk is so aginst it when if he lives in Vegas he is the the most monaitred city in the country. All you have to do is watch one program on secirity in vegas oin what they are willing to actaully expose to the public.As one said you can't take a dunk in vegas without them knowing and they have no real rules.
Inside the casinos you are absolutely correct. However, it is not like that on the public roads, or anywhere else in day to day life. Photo radar got shot down quickly here. Just recently, they were trying to do something similar with cameras being placed all the state recording plates. That was immediately shot down because it was an invasion of privacy:
P.S. In Arizona, they got more and more crazy with the photo radar cameras. At first it was said that as you long you were not speeding you would not have anything to worry about. Now look what as happened. Once you allow this crap it only gets worse and worse.

What is wrong is the cities implementing them constantly change the yellow light times strictly to generate more revenue. This creates MORE accidents. Again, it is something that sounds like a good thing but it is actually bad.

That is not the case in most states;maybe in vegas. I don't are what cameras are cameras. I am not the one objecting but I also know that most parking lots and malls in Vegas have them. They are pretty much everywhere not just casinos;I don't object at all. Keeping the laws enforced are just if not mroe important as guaurding the casinos IMO. The laws here regulate the timing of yellow lights here and cameras have been shown to redcue accidents. Anytime someone is in intersection wreck the law has been volated and the camera will shoe who was at fault.In yellow lght situation the person running a redlight by not stopping is not going to change whether a camera is there or not.Most sattes that have too shrot a yellow light was there before the camera and ios easilty corrected. Thoise that pulled them are just reacting to political pressure but most have not. Its like mandating insurance many do not really enforce the laws on their books.Politics even trumps lifes in many instances.
I believe they are causing a lot more accidents. Everyone is paranoid of getting a ticket that they stop short at the light and wind up getting rear-ended. I have seen it myself more than once.
The City of LA did a study and shows they don't cause any traffic accidents. They compared a period before and after the cameras were installed. They had nothing but good to say about them.
Then one of the local news channels reviewed the information from the surveys. It turns out the PD report left out a few important stats that changed the results from negative to positive. The news review showed almost twice the number of accidents occur at most intersections with cameras.When a news guy cornered a councilman with the facts, the guy said he wasn't aware of that information, but he would certainly check into it before renewing the contract with the camera company...
Last I heard was the City is planning to install more.... The cameras provide several million a year to the City, and they will do what needs to be done to make sure the cameras stay in place
I pay for my License Plates and Insurance, why shouldn't everyone else? I'm getting damn tired of these scumbags that feel the laws are for "the other guy" and never them. If everyone pays their fare share we would all be better off.
