Recently moved to TX which has front license plates. I got my plates and went out to put them on my car - no bracket or even holes to put the plate on. Have a 2003 X-Type Jaguar, any ideas of where to find one on the net? Do I need a specific bracket made for my auto or will any do? Thanks.

Have you tried the local jag dealer? They might even put one on there for free for you if they can add their own license frame which is advertising for them. Then just take off their license frame when you leave.

I drove in Texas without a front plate for nine years and it never caused a problem.

Excellent idea, KY Filly!

Definitely, not worth the risk . . . check your local Jag Dealer.

Yes, in Texas a front license plate is required. Has been for DECADES. I don't have one on my BMW and not had any problems w/ it. Dealer gave me the bracket to put on them if I wanted. It stays in the trunk. The local Jag dealer should be able to get them and put them on for you. Probably have them in stock as it is one item that does "disappear" in accidents.

As for the police and not having a front tag. I HAVE BEEN STOPPED and gotten a ticket for it. This was back in the 80's so if they are looking for something to get you on this is an easy one to do.
