Getting a few in here with the interior peeling, especially the steering wheel covers. Might be a big deal as they get older.

Anybody got a peeler out there?

That's a new one I hadnt heard yet. I have heard of transmission related problems with them however.
I was actually kinda hot to get into one of these when they first came along, the fact that I couldnt get a manual tranny turned me away.
Any pics of the peeling situation?

HEH, must not be just the trucks then. I replaced a steering wheel on an '08 Saturn Vue yesterday under warranty for that exact reason.

What do you mean "steering wheel cover"? The leather part on the wheel, or the part covering the airbag?

My Chevy minivan has little chips in the steering wheel stereo buttons. I never notice it unless it's at night and the lights underneath shine through them. I thought about dabbing it with a black paint pen.

Have a 07 Tahoe(12000 miles) peeling bad. Also an 07 Sierra(23000 miles) with no peeling. GMC seems to hold up better.

What is it that is peeling? The steering wheel?

On late models there is a cover on either side of the steering wheel, inside the circumference of the wheel itself.

Both Sierra & Tahoe are slow to change gear(4 speed auto). Also, the Tahoe's tranny temp runs 25-30 degrees higher than Sierra. I think these vehicles really need 5+ gears.
