My dad has a '06 Silverado and his transmission shifts silky smooth, but not slow. He drives it roundtrip from the Florida panhandle to Houston every six weeks and it has performed just fine. I think they're good transmissions, but like every other transmission it will last longer if the fluid is changed every 40-50k miles. I don't care what that manual says, 100k miles is way too long to wait.

Possibly a little off topic but that looks like some stuff that some bike seat manufacturers have been using recently...and it has been having issues with peeling as well. It's leather but it has this coating on top of it and the coating is separating and peeling off.

I guess they didn't test it for durability before they made the decision to use it.

My Dad has an '07 Silverado, and it's a great truck. It's pretty much a no-frills truck with an appearance pacakage, but it's still a nice truck. He loves it! I've driven it a few times, and I would really like to have one also.

He's had no problems at all so far. Well, the passenger side window squeals a little when you roll it down. He'll never take it in for warranty, but I would've had it in there already.

This was his first new truck since 1980,and he's really proud of it. Something came off a truck the other day and dented the top of the cab though!
