Basically, do simple title transfer. You are sort of stuck now as you have it signed and dated, and t-fer has to be done at DMV, and then they will hit you with some sort of fees. Should you kept it blank, you could have simply handed it to the guy. Presumption is made, there is no debt or liens attached, cash pay, right?

If that is true then why isn't there a spot on the title to allow for this?

If you sign the owners portion of the title and allow the seller to not sign his or her portion you are opening yourself to liability.

wow it seems like such a hassle to import cars or trucks north of the Border...what a headache. I really appreciate all of your posts and input. The Canadian backed out of the deal but there is another now who is interested in the truck ...heres a link on eBay...Ford F 350 Lariat | eBay

By the way I've transferred title and smoged the truck, and is now in my name...just waiting for the title to come in the mail...
