I disagree completely with that. Our government is there to work for us, not nanny us.

The government making laws to protect others/us (do not murder, steal, etc), and taxes that are used to benefit us (roads, schools, etc) I am okay with, but it has no right to tell someone that they can or cannot have something just because it is unhealthy for them.

Everyone should be responsible for their own selves. If someone wants to chug 64oz sodas and smoke 4 packs of cigarettes then they should be able to, it isn't my place to tell them not to, nor "tax" them for being "naughty".

I've always worn my seatbelt ever since I have been ticketed very long time ago.
It used to be that I would wear seatbelt just to avoid getting another ticket.
Now the reason has changed. If I get hurt or die in an auto accident, who would take care for my family?
My life is no longer just my own.

It looks to me that this guy was likely steering his truck while standing on his front bumper from outside the cab before the accident.

fortunately he was able to simply step down when the truck stopped and walk quickly clear of any potential explosion.
