I like the new captioning which displays driver/engineer comms in text. Besides my difficulty in discerning their words due to accents and stress, the loudness (level) of the radio back and forth is usually below the commentators or engine audio. Now I no longer need the commentators to convey what was said, but can read it for myself. It's not always shown, but is very helpful when shown. I never understood why the audio engineer didn't just push the radio level a little higher; it's a simple change and there's no potential problem with feedback or dynamic range limits since the radio is already compressed. Unlike with the blathering commentators, there have been some priceless exchanges over the years such as when Kimi said "Leave me alone, I know what to do!" or today Lewis saying "Leave me to it, leave me to it!"
Fabulous Q3 session today in the wet showcasing car control and derring-do. These wet or changing conditions really entertain. Too bad the race tomorrow will be dry.
Well today's race was largely uneventful until Pirelli tyres started popping like it was a New Year's Eve party!
Bet that does wonders for their sales.
I was pleased to see Lewis Hamilton win, but I can understand if people are turned off by Mercedes' dominance.
