Dani Pedrosa stormed to pole position for the Catalunya Grand Prix as Cal Crutchlow continued his fine start to the season by qualifying second.
Pedrosa was six tenths of a second faster than everyone else, while Crutchlow edged world champion Jorge Lorenzo, who will start third.
Alvaro Bautista was fourth, with Nicky Hayden fifth and Marc Marquez sixth.
Nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi - who was quickest on Friday - could only manage seventh.
Cal is doing awesome this season. Hope he does well tomorrow. Bet Yamaha is kicking themselves for not giving the factory ride to him.
In an interview with Crutchlow I heard they might give next seasons factory ride to Pol Espagaro to which Cal replied, "I wont race for Yamaha if they give the ride to Pol. I'll just quit and go ride my bicycle."
A bit off topic but I'm really disappointed in Spies. I thought for sure we'd have another American consistently on the box last season. He did so well on the Tech3 Yamaha then just had a dismal year in 2012 on the factory Yamaha. I hope he gets another shot at a factory MotoGP ride and does not end up back in WSBK.

Yeh that would be a slap in the face to Cal.
But yeh I'm also dissapointed with Spies. Seems some riders just don't transition well.

Great rides by Rossi, Crutchlow, and the gutsy Lorenzo.
MotoGP is surely some of the best racing anywhere.
