The first race this weekend is the Honda Grand Prix in St. Petersburg. I think it's on at noon on the NBC sports network. I usually forget when it's on that channel, but this thread should help me remember. Are you planning to watch or attend? Do you attend any Indycar races?
I only attend the Baltimore GP because its the closest and I'm a fan of the ALMS. I also enjoyed the Indy car race. Im planning to attend it again this year and follow the sport this season.
The Go Daddy car in victory lane....nice. Before she got burned at Texas a few years ago, there was some background chatter that DeSilvestro is actually pretty good - just no hype. With no hype, there's no pressure. Hopefully she does well.
Upcoming Indycar race this weekend, here is the NBCSportsNetwork schedule:
Honda Grand Prix of Alabama from Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala.
Honda Grand Prix of Alabama, Qualifying
Sat 4/6 5:00PM-6:00PM (Eastern)
Firestone Legacy Indy Lights 100
Sun 4/7 2:00PM-3:00PM (Eastern)
Honda Grand Prix of Alabama
Sun 4/7 3:00PM-6:00PM (Eastern)
Watched last race, the race was reasonable given the track. I am not usually a fan of street courses as they tend to be narrow, no-passing crashfests and that track more than most. The schedule this year is 16 races with 7 street courses, 6 ovals and only 3 actual road courses.
Since I don't watch ovals, that makes a 10 race season for me, and I may skip some of the street races as well. I've never cared for Long Beach, either.
