Seriously? I would soooo fire those cats!

As Runemaster said, our cats would simply demolish those poor things. In the 11 years we lived in Phoenix, we only had one house where we even saw them at all and it was a new construction neighborhood. The first one I ever found was so smashed flat that I honestly didn't even know what it was. When I found it, I called him over and said "What is THAT?!" When he said it was a scorpion, I said, "no it's not!"

Good kitty, kitty.

You don't have a scorpion problem, you have a lazy cat problem.

LOL< you have to warn them first. Either verbally at the time, or by posting a sign warning against trespassing at all reasonable points of egress.

in 5 years here, I've never seen a scorpion bigger than and inch long in the body (the smaller they are, the longer in proportion their tails are to body it seems). When I heard there were scorpions here, I was expecting something like this:

but in reality they're more like this:

I thank the heavens that my schnauzer is a master scorpion hunter. When he sees one in the house he sits next to it and barks until we come to see what the ruckus is. Awesome little habit the boy has.

I don't know if it's the same with the scorpions there, but in Phoenix you would rather run into one of those big ones. The smaller and lighter in color they were, the more dangerous/poisonous they were.

Most of the ones I saw were very light brown and very small; not good. Though the one that we saw alive and cornered in our kitchen was more like the big one. It was fun watching the cats toy with it, too!
