I'm trying to find the best chicken-fried steak and eggs breakfast in Austin. I've had some really good chicken-fried steak here, but those places aren't open for breakfast. I really need to find a place that can serve me my "power breakfast" on weekends. I live near Southpark Meadows, but all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Waterloo Ice House. I used to have breakfast sometimes at the Burnet Rd location. It says they have a location in Southpark Meadows.

Waterloo Ice House at 38th and Medical (across from Seton Hospital) offers the same for $8.75, well worth it.

Default Thanks!

That's 2 votes for Waterloo Ice House, so I'll definitely check out the Southpark Meadows one. I've actually been there many times, just never for breakfast. Thanks!

Dan's on Manchaca is a great place for Sunday breakfast even if you need to wait awhile to be seated. Don't knock it til you've tried it

Dan's doesn't serve chicken fried steak for breakfast though, does it? I didn't see it on the menu. Too bad, cause it really would fit in with their image (better than breakfast tacos and migas).. plus, they serve it other times of the day. Maybe they'd make it if you asked for it.
