Funny that some over you are happy with 98 degrees, well it's gonna' be that for the next two weeks. Might get a little rain from that tropical depression, though, if it makes it to Austin. One month of heat to go...

Sounds nice.

The date for this is Sunday, September 29.

hmmm. . .

I think they're predicting weather using one of these:

106

How many days of 100 have we had in 2013 already?

No - this is not normal. Not normal. I'm sick of it.
Made it all the way to 94, according to the thermometer by the clubhouse. NNE breeze and lowish humidity made for a great day. Walked the round.

So much for predictions, eh?

Obviously, weather goes in cycles. Also, the longer you measure weather, the more variations you will get. It's simple math.

I remember intense heat in the 1950s and we didn't have air conditioning. We still stayed outside all day and played.

It was hot this weekend, but still enjoyable. I'll take 94-96 for highs any day over 100. When the sun went down, it was even better.

The weekend was great - like a return to the summers of my youth. Hot, but enjoyably hot.

Yeah, summers were always hot. But I remember them as being hot in the way that you could still do things - 90s with only a handful of 100+ days. A "hot" summer might have has a dozen 100+ days. Actually, anything above 102 was extremely rare.

Also, the real heat didn't begin in early June - July marked the start of the really hot days. You could still wake up and feel cool in June - at least that's in my memory. And September was warm, but usually the dog days were over by the end of August or first week of September. Now I count myself lucky if we catch a little break anywhere in September.

I hope this is just some cycle and we'll revert back someday. But goddam, I'm sick of it.
I really don't think it is that hot this summer.

Yes, and that's unfortunate. The only way we will get our lakes filled is from a hurricane.
