We will be moving to Dripping Springs soon and I have been researching schools as we look at home listings. All of the elementary schools in DSISD seem to be highly rated, but I was curious as to whether anyone has experience that could help us in determining whether one elementary school in the district is better than another. Thanks so much!

My daughter went to Dripping Springs Elementary and then Rooster Springs. Both good schools. Rooster is the newest of the three.

I'm very pleased with Walnut Spring ES. The staff is exceptional.

We just moved here last summer and my kids go to Walnut Springs. They LOVE their new school!! I've been very impressed so far. I think all three schools are equally good. The kids at rooster all live in belterra. The kids from DSES are from High Pointe,Ledgestone, and rural areas. Walnut Springs is the most rural school and has a much larger attendance zone.

We have really loved Dripping Springs and the schools have been fantastic (I have kids in middle and high school as well). So happy we moved here!

Texas school districts are "independant" of any other political body, and can stretch across county lines. The DS ISD is one example, with part of the district in Travis county, and the majority in Hays. Hays ISD is to the SW, and Wimberley ISD is south. This map will show you what is in the district, as well as the elementary school zones.
