I live in NW Hills and am thinking of taking Metro Rail to the convention center a few times this week. Do you think it is easier and faster than driving? Is there a place to park my car, a side street maybe?

There is a park and ride listed at 6920 North Lamar:

It may be easier and/or cheaper. I'm not sure if there is free parking at the CC.

That is a better idea. Thanks!

6920 N Lamar is Crestview Station and it has a parking garage. It also has Black Star Co-Op in the same center, which is worth a visit after the convention.

Whenever I have to go downtown for work, I always ride Metrorail (from Lakeline Station) - the ride from there takes about 50 minutes and is absolutely stress-free. I was apprehensive about using the connector buses last time, to get me to the Clements office building, but it was a completely smooth process. The bus was waiting for the rail, and just about 10 feet away...and if you are needing to go to the Convention Center, it is even easier because you don't have to mess with a connector. It was wonderful!

What? When did that happen? What does someone do who, say, gets off at MLK and needs to go to the UT campus? That's hardly a feasible walk.
