Hmmm...burbs of course, but it's a much easier commute than RR proper! Can't agree with that part!

When is the new O'Connor/45 extension going to open?

Looks like everything is finished except the striping.

No, sorry, I don't think it's a much easier commute than Round Rock proper at all. I've gotten onto the toll road/MoPac from your area. Save for a few stoplights on 620, the time savings is negligible. Round Rock is more of a bosom buddy to you guys than Austin.

Well, it sounded like you were saying it's an easier commute INTO Austin from round rock proper. My mistake. It's an easy commute to get to round rock proper and Austin for HH residents, but I wouldn't say one is easier than the other at this point. It takes less time to get to downtown RR, than Austin, but MORE time to go north RR than Austin. I see what your saying now though.

Scopro, I'm curious as to when they will open the extension too. That's going to make it so much faster, since HH residents won't have to get on 620.

I would say that 'easy commute into Round Rock' from HH is a crap shoot. I've spent over 30 minutes trying to get from O'Connor across IH35 more than once in morning traffic. I've spent over 20 minutes just trying to get from O'Connor to Deep Wood! No accidents...just school and other traffic. Toss in a train crossing and all bets are off!(these times were withOUT the current highway construction snafu )

Traffic is bad everywhere--during certain hours I'd say stay at home if possible. In comparison, it's not that bad. But your right, the construction stinks!

If it's on 620, It's still Austin no matter how you slice it. You just either go to RRISD or AISD. simple as that. people in Leander still consider themselves Austin so it's really no big deal

As for Highland Horizon. I was sadly disappointed as I was hoping to see Highland Homes builders in there, which btw are arguably the BEST home builders in Austin, hands down. but no, that development is mostly David Weekly and Lennar( I think), which in my opinion is a horrible builder for David Weekly to team up with. And it appears to be 2Phases as one side is finished out, but the other side is just dirt. not very appealing when you're driving into the development. Access to 620 is a breeze because that's the main intersection of the development.

Overall I give Highland Horizon a C+ if only for the nice location and booming growth. but they need better more high-end builders to attract the discriminating home buyer.

Unless you are talking about Ph3 (which I haven't looked into) there are no Lennar homes in HH. It's Streetman and David Weekly.

The builders for Phase I and Phase II are David Weekly and Streetman Homes. I do not know who is the builder for Phase III, but hear it's going to be high end homes. I have a house built by Streetman Homes and extremely happy with the purchase. Phase I started small and had smaller less expensive houses. Phase II have bigger houses in the $350K-500K. Your definition of high end homes may be different from mine. But I think that is high end enough for me. The neighborhood has a small community feel and is close enough to downtown for me. It will be better when the 620 construction and the Occonner/45 intersection is done.

I think phase 3 is going to be similar to phase 1, which was a mix of smaller and larger homes. I heard Streetman is the developer for phase 3 as well. Phase two is the Enclave, which are also Streetman...small, but pricey. They are really nice inside. Kimball Hill was originally going to build with Streetman and David Weekly, but they went bankrupt (I think). This is when Streetman decided to design smaller homes for the neighborhood. These smaller homes were selling like hotcakes, which is why I think it's going to be similar on the other side. :-)
